Hadith 17:305
Yazid narrated to us, he said: Ibn 'Awn informed us, he said: Lying was mentioned in the presence of Muhammad regarding war, that there is no harm in it. Muhammad said: I do not know of lying except that it is forbidden.
حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا [ بن ] عون قال ذكر الكذب عند محمد في الحرب أنه لا بأس به قال محمد لا أعلم الكذب إلا حراما
