Hadith 17:33
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, from Mu'awiyah ibn Salih, he said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr informed me, from his father, that he heard al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an al-Ansari al-Balawi say: I asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about righteousness and sin. He said: "Righteousness is good character, and sin is what pricks in your soul and you dislike that people should find out about it."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا زيد بن الحباب عن معاوية بن صالح قال أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن جبير عن أبيه أنه سمع النواس بن سمعان ( ( ( عديس ) ) ) الأنصاري ( ( ( البلوي ) ) ) قال ( ( ( وكان ) ) ) سألت ( ( ( ممن ) ) ) رسول ( ( ( بايع ) ) ) الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن البر والإثم قال البر حسن الخلق والإثم ما حاك في نفسك وكرهت أن يطلع عليه الناس ( ( ( ثم ) ) )
