Hadith 17:378
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari, he said: A man came, and he (the man) thought that he (the leader) had not heard him, so he said: "Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings." He (the leader) said: "And upon you. Do you not return to me what I say to you?" He (the man) said: "Have I not already done so?"
حدثنا بن نمير قال حدثنا الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري قال جاء رجل فظن أنه لم يسمع فقال السلام عليك يا أمير المؤمنين ورحمة الله وبركاته فقال وعليكم ألا ترد علي لما أقول لك قال أليس قد فعلت
