Hadith 17:396
Humaid ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Ru'asi narrated to us, from Hasan ibn Salih, from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Muntasher, from Khalid ibn al-Salt, who said: Ibn Sirin entered upon Ibn Hubayrah and said, "Peace be upon you (al-salamu 'alaykum)." Ibn Hubayrah said, "What is this greeting?" He replied, "This is how the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to be greeted."
حدثنا حميد بن عبد الرحمن [ الرواسي ] عن حسن بن صالح عن إبراهيم بن محمد المنتشر عن خالد بن الصلت قال دخل بن سيرين على بن هبيرة فقال السلام عليكم فقال بن هبيرة ما هذا السلام فقال هكذا كان يسلم على رسول الله
