Hadith 17:40
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Yunus, he said: ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakrah mentioned, he said: The leader of Banu ‘Asr said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, there are two characteristics in you that Allah loves." I said: "What are they?" He said: "Forbearance and modesty." He said: I said: "Were they ancient in me, or recent?" He said: "Rather, they are ancient." He said: I said: "Praise be to Allah who has fashioned me upon two characteristics that Allah loves."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن علية عن يونس قال ذكر عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة قال قال اشج بني عصر قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إن فيك لخلقين يحبهما الله قلت ما هما قال الحلم والحياء قال قلت أقديما كان في أم حديثا قال بل قديما قال قلت الحمد لله الذي جبلني على خلقين يحبهما الله
