Hadith 17:401
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, who said: If a man greets a man, even if he is alone, he should say, "As-salamu 'alaykum" (Peace be upon you), meaning [that] the angels are with him.
حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم قال إذا سلم الرجل على الرجل وإن كان وحده فليقل السلام عليكم يعني معه الملائكة
