Hadith 17:409

Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from Nafi’, who said: I was traveling with ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Zakariyya in the land of the Byzantines. My mount urinated, so it stopped and urinated. Then I caught up with him, and he said, "Did you not offer the greeting of peace (salam)?" I said, "I only just parted from you." He said, "Even if you parted from me? The companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to travel together, and a tree would come between them, so they would meet and some of them would offer the greeting of peace to others."
