Hadith 17:438
Abu Usama narrated to us, from Awf, from Zurara ibn Awfa, who said: Abdullah ibn Salam narrated to me, saying: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) arrived in Medina, the people rushed towards him, and it was said: "The Messenger of Allah has arrived." So I came among the people to look. When I clearly saw his face, I knew that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing I heard him speak was that he said: "O people, spread the greeting (salam)."
حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عوف عن زرارة بن أوفى قال حدثني عبد الله بن سلام قال لما قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى المدينة انجفل الناس قبله وقيل قدم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فجئت في الناس لأنظر فلما تبينت وجهه عرفت أن وجهه ليس بوجه كذاب فكان أول شيء سمعته يتكلم به أن قال يا أيها الناس أفشوا السلام
