Hadith 17:488
Waki’ narrated to us, from Shu’bah, who said: I asked al-Hakam and Hammad about greeting women with *salam*. He disliked it for both the young woman and the old woman. Al-Hakam said: Shurayh used to greet everyone. I said: [Including] women? He said: Everyone.
حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة قال سألت الحكم وحمادا عن السلام على النساء فكرهه على الشابة والعجوز وقال الحكم كان شريح يسلم على كل أحد قلت النساء قال على كل أحد
