Hadith 17:489
Waki’ narrated to us, from al-Awza’i, from Yahya, from Abu Qilabah, who said: Abu Mas’ud said to Abu ‘Abd Allah—or Abu ‘Abd Allah said to Abu Mas’ud—"What did you hear the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say regarding 'they claimed' (za’amu)?" He said: "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'The worst mount for a man is: they claimed.'"
حدثنا وكيع عن الأوزاعي عن يحيى عن أبي قلابة قال قال أبو مسعود لأبي عبد الله أو قال أبو عبد الله لأبي مسعود ما سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول في زعموا قال سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول بئس مطية الرجل زعموا
