Hadith 17:538
Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim, who said: He used to dislike that one writes at the beginning of a letter: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, to so-and-so." And he saw no harm in writing it on the address (the outside of the letter).
