Hadith 17:575
Ja'far ibn 'Awn narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Isma'il, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubayd ibn al-Sabbaq, from Zayd ibn Thabit, that Abu Bakr said to him: "You used to write the revelation for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so gather the Qur'an and write it down."
حدثنا جعفر بن عون عن إبراهيم بن إسماعيل عن الزهري عن عبيد بن السباق عن زيد بن ثابت أن أبا بكر قال له قد كنت تكتب الوحي لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فاجمع القرآن فاكتبه
