Hadith 17:589
'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Isma'il al-Makki, from al-Hasan and al-Nakha'i, that they saw no harm in a man writing [a letter or document] and beginning with it [i.e., beginning with the name of Allah or a greeting].
حدثنا عباد بن العوام عن إسماعيل المكي عن الحسن والنخعي أنهما لم يريا بأسا أن يكتب الرجل فيبدأ به
