Hadith 17:597
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Zakariya narrated to us, from ‘Amir: ‘Abdullah ibn Muti‘ said: None of the disobedient ones of Quraysh reached Islam except Muti‘, and his name was al-‘As, so the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) named him Muti‘.
حدثنا محمد بن بشر قال حدثنا زكريا عن عامر عبد الله بن مطيع قال لم يدرك الإسلام من عصاة قريش غير مطيع وكان اسمه العاص فسماه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مطيعا
