Hadith 17:624
'Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was at al-Baqi', and a man called out to another, "O Abu al-Qasim!" The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) turned toward him. The man said, "I did not mean you, O Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunya (patronymic)."
حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن حميد عن أنس قال كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بالبقيع فنادى رجل آخر يا أبا القاسم فالتفت إليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال إني لم أعنك يا رسول الله فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم تسموا باسمي ولا تكنوا بكنيتي
