Hadith 17:723
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, from Mis'ar, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Khaythama, who said: A poet came to 'Umar and said, "I will recite to you." So he asked him to recite, and he began reciting to him, and he mentioned Muhammad. He said, "May Allah forgive Muhammad for what he endured." 'Umar said, "He has done so." Then he mentioned Abu Bakr and 'Umar together. He said, "Whatever Allah wills."
حدثنا محمد بن بشر عن مسعر عن عمرو بن مرة عن خيثمة قال أتى عمر شاعر فقال أنشدك فاستنشده فجعل هو ينشده فذكر محمدا فقال غفر الله لمحمد بما صبر قال يقول عمر قد فعل ثم أبا بكر جميعا وعمر فقال ما شاء الله
