Hadith 17:740
Hassan ibn Thabit entered upon her after his eyesight had failed. It was said to her, "Do you allow this man to enter upon you, he who Allah said regarding him: 'And he among them who took the greater part thereof, his shall be a great punishment'?" She said, "And is he not in a great punishment? His eyesight has failed." He then recited to her a verse he had composed for his daughter: "A chaste, staid woman who is not suspected of any indecency, And she wakes up hungry, [having refrained] from the flesh of the heedless [i.e., backbiting]." She said, "But you are not like that."
حدثنا أبو معاوية عن مسلم عن الأعمش عن مسروق عن عائشة قالت دخل عليها حسان بن ثابت بعد ما كف بصره فقيل لها أتدخلين عليك هذا الذي قال الله @QB@ والذي تولى كبره منهم له عذاب عظيم @QE@ 1 قالت أو ليس في عذاب عظيم قد كف بصره قال فأنشدها بيتا قاله لابنته % حصان رزان ما تزن بريبة % ويصبح غرثى من لحوم الغوافل % % قالت لكن أنت لست كذلك
