Hadith 17:781
Hafs, Abu Mu'awiyah, and Waki' narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "For the interior of a man to be filled with pus that consumes him is better for him than for it to be filled with poetry." Except that Hafs did not say "that consumes him."
حدثنا حفص وأبو معاوية ووكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لأن يمتلئ جوف الرجل قيحا يريه خير له من أن يمتلىء شعرا إلا أن حفصا [ لم ] يقل يريه
