Hadith 17:782
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd Allah, from Yuhannis, the freed slave of Mus'ab ibn al-Zubayr, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, a poet appeared reciting. He (the Prophet) said: "That the interior of a man be filled with pus is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد قال حدثنا ليث بن سعد عن سعيد بن عبد الله عن يحنس مولى مصعب بن الزبير عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال بينما نحن عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذ عرض شاعر ينشد فقال لأن يمتلئ جوف الرجل قيحا خير له من أن يمتلئ شعرا
