Hadith 17:788
Waki’ narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, that he once recited a line of poetry, then remained silent regarding its end. He said: "Indeed, I dislike that a line of poetry be written in my scroll."
حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي الضحى عن مسروق أنه تمثل مرة ببيت شعر فسكت عن آخره وقال إن لأكره أن يكتب في صحيفتي بيت شعر
