Hadith 17:880
Waki’ narrated to us, from Isma’il, who said: They mentioned in the presence of al-Sha’bi that sitting with the storytellers is equivalent to freeing a slave. He said: "For me to free a slave is more beloved to me than to sit with the storytellers for four months."
حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل قال ذكروا عند الشعبي الجلوس مع القصاص كعدل عتق رقبة فقال لأن أعتق رقبة أحب إلي من أن أجلس مع القصاص أربعة أشهر
