Hadith 17:892
Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from his father, who said: I heard Ibrahim al-Taymi say: "Nothing compelled me to sit in this gathering of mine except that I saw as if I were distributing basil." I mentioned that to Ibrahim, and he said: "Basil has a pleasant appearance, but its taste is bitter."
حدثنا بن مهدي عن سفيان عن أبيه قال سمعت إبراهيم التيمي قال إنما حملني على مجلسي هذا أني رأيت كأني أقسم ريحانا فذكرت ذلك لإبراهيم فقال إن الريحان له منظر وطعمه مر
