Hadith 17:920

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh narrated to us, from Ibn 'Awn, he said: Muslim al-Batin narrated to me, from Ibrahim al-Taymi, from 'Amr ibn Maymun, he said: Ibn Mas'ud never missed a Thursday without me coming to him on it. He said: I never heard him say about anything at all, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said." But one evening, he said, "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said." He said: Then he bowed his head. He said: So I looked at him while he was standing, with the buttons of his shirt undone, his eyes overflowing with tears, and his jugular veins swollen. He said: "Or less than that, or more than that, or close to that, or similar to that."
