Hadith 17:966
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ali ibn al-Hakam, from Ata ibn Abi Rabah, that a man was praising a man in the presence of Ibn Umar. Ibn Umar began throwing dust toward his face with his fingers and said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "If you see the praisers, throw dust into their mouths."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن علي بن الحكم عن عطاء بن أبي رباح أن رجلا كان يمدح رجلا عند بن عمر فجعل بن عمر يحثو التراب نحو وجهه بأصابعه وقال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ( ( ( السلام ) ) ) إذا ( ( ( وأبي ) ) ) رأيتم المادحين ( ( ( وقدوم ) ) ) فاحثوا في ( ( ( قدم ) ) ) أفواههم التراب
