Hadith 17:985
26287. 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Burd, from al-Zuhri: It was said to him, "May a man take a kunya (a nickname starting with Abu) before he has a child born to him?" He said, "There were men among the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who would take a kunya before they had children born to them."
حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن برد عن الزهري قيل له أيكتني الرجل قبل أن يولد له قال كان رجال من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يكتنوا قبل أن يولد لهم
