Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 23:222

Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim, who said: He was asked about a man who saw a hyena in the middle of the night. He said: "If this were good, the companions of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would have looked into it."
