Hadith 4:2
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from ‘Arfajah, who said: I was with ‘Utbah ibn Farqad while he was speaking to us about the virtue of Ramadan. Then a man from the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon us, and ‘Utbah fell silent, as if he was in awe of him. When he sat down, ‘Utbah said to him: "O so-and-so, narrate to us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding Ramadan." He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: 'The gates of Paradise are opened in it, the gates of Hellfire are closed in it, and the devils are shackled in it. And a caller calls out every night: O seeker of good, come forward; and O seeker of evil, desist.'"
