Hadith 4:20
Waki’ and Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, from Mis’ar, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari, that a woman used to fast during the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) while there was something in her tongue [i.e., she was talkative/gossiping]. He said: She did not fast, so she restrained herself. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "She has almost [succeeded]." Then she restrained herself [further], and he said, "Now."
حدثنا وكيع ومحمد بن بشر عن مسعر عن عمرو بن مرة عن أبي البختري ان امرأة كانت تصوم على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في لسانها قال ما صامت فتحفظت فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقد كادت ثم تحفظت فقال الآن
