Hadith 4:222

Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Abu Malik, from Sa’d ibn ‘Ubaydah, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said: The man remains in a state of choice as long as he has not eaten, until the middle of the day. If it appears to him that he should eat, he eats. And if it appears to him that he should make it a fast, he is fasting.

حدثنا بن فضيل عن أبي مالك عن سعد بن عبيدة عن بن عمر قال الرجل بالخيار ما لم يطعم إلى نصف النهار فإن بدا له أن يطعم طعم وإن بدا له أن يجعله صوما كان صائما
