Hadith 4:34
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Thabit, from Abdullah ibn Rabah, who said: We went out as a delegation to Mu'awiyah, and we passed by a monk. Food was brought, and the people ate, but I did not eat. He said to me, "What is the matter with you that you do not eat?" I said, "I am fasting." He said, "Shall I not give you glad tidings regarding your fasting? Tables are set, and the first to eat from them are the fasting ones."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت عن عبد الله بن رباح قال خرجنا وفدا إلى معاوية فمررنا براهب فجيء بالطعام فأكل القوم ولم آكل فقال لي ما لك لا تأكل فقلت اني صائم قال الا اكسمك ( 1 ) على صومك توضع الموائد فأول من يأكل منها الصائمون
