Hadith 4:368
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Hisham al-Dastawa'i informed us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Umar ibn al-Hakam ibn Thawban, that a freed slave of Qudamah narrated to him that Usamah used to go out to a property of his in Wadi al-Qura and would fast on Mondays and Thursdays. I said to him, "Why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays while you are an old man?" He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasting them." I said to him, "Why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays?" He said, "They are two days in which deeds are presented."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا هشام الدستوائي عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن عمر بن الحكم بن ثوبان أن مولى قدامة حدثه أن أسامة كان يخرج إلى مال له بوادي القرى فيصوم الاثنين والخميس فقلت له لم تصوم الاثنين والخميس وأنت شيخ كبير فقال رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصومهما فقلت له لم تصوم الاثنين والخميس فقال انهما يومان تعرض فيهما الأعمال
