Hadith 4:377

Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from ‘Imran ibn Zabyan, from Hakim ibn Sa‘d, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib—may Allah honor his face—who said: "Whoever among you is to perform voluntary fasting during the month, let his fasting be on Thursday. And do not fast on Friday, for it is a day of food and drink and remembrance. Thus, Allah will combine two good days for him: the day of his fasting and the day of his worship with the Muslims."
