Hadith 4:489
Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from al-Hajari, from Abu Iyad, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The fast of the day of Ashura is a day that the prophets used to fast, so you (all) fast it."
