Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 4:50

Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Asadi narrated to us, from Sharik, from Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Jabir, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: "Whoever intends to fast, let him take the pre-dawn meal (suhur), even if it is with something."
