Hadith 4:500
Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from al-Qasim ibn Mukhaymirah, from Abu ‘Ammar, from Qays ibn Sa’d, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) commanded us to fast on the day of Ashura before Ramadan was revealed. When Ramadan was revealed, he did not command us [to fast it], nor did he forbid us from it, and we continue to do it.
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن سلمة بن كهيل عن القاسم بن مخيمرة عن أبي عمار عن قيس بن سعد قال أمرنا ( ( ( أمر ) ) ) رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بصيام عاشوراء قبل أن ( ( ( وكيع ) ) ) ينزل رمضان فلما نزل رمضان لم يأمرنا ولم ينهانا ( ( ( ينهنا ) ) ) ونحن نفعله
