Hadith 4:508
Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, from Umar ibn al-Walid, who said: Ikrima was asked about fasting the day of Ashura and the day of Arafah. He said: "It is not appropriate for a man to fast a day that he considers obligatory upon himself, except for Ramadan."
حدثنا الفضل بن دكين عن عمر بن الوليد قال سئل عكرمة عن صيام يوم عاشوراء ويوم عرفة فقال لايصلح لرجل يصوم يوما يرى أنه عليه واجب إلا رمضان
