Hadith 4:511
Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Ata, from Abu al-Khalil, from Abu Qatada, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fasting the day of Ashura is an expiation for a year, and fasting the day of Arafah is an expiation for two years: a past year and a future year."
حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن بن أبي ليلى عن عطاء عن أبي الخليل عن أبي قتادة قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم صوم عاشوراء كفارة سنة وصوم يوم عرفة كفارة سنتين سنة ماضية وسنة مستقبلة
