Hadith 4:594
Waki’ narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu Wa’il, who said: The letter of Umar came to us while we were at Khanaqin, [stating] that some crescents are larger than others. So if you see the crescent during the day, do not break your fast until two Muslim men testify that they saw it yesterday.
حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي وائل قال أتانا ( ( ( أخبرنانا ) ) ) كتاب عمر ونحن بخانقين ( ( ( الخائفين ) ) ) أن الأهلة بعضها أكبر من بعض فإذا رأيتم الهلال نهارا فلا تفطروا حتى يشهد رجلان مسلمان أنهما أهلاه بالأمس
