Hadith 4:601
Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Za'idah, from Simak, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, who said: A Bedouin man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have seen the crescent moon tonight." He said: "Do you bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger?" He said: "Yes." He said: "O Bilal, announce to the people that they should fast tomorrow."
حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن سماك عن عكرمة عن بن عباس قال جاء رجل أعرابي إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال يا رسول الله إني رأيت الهلال الليلة قال تشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا عبده ورسوله قال نعم قال يا بلال ناد في الناس يصوموا غدا
