Hadith 4:608
Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Muhajir, that Muhammad ibn Suwayd al-Fihri broke his fast or offered the sacrifice a day before the people. So, 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz wrote to him, "What compelled you to break your fast before the people?" Muhammad wrote back to him, "Hizam ibn Hakim al-Qurashi testified before me that he saw the crescent moon." 'Umar wrote back to him, "Is he the only one among the people, or is he the possessor of two hands?"
