Hadith 4:685
Waki’ narrated to us, from Mahdi bin Maymun, from Ghaylan bin Jarir, from Abdullah bin Ma’bad al-Zamani, from Abu Qatada, who said: A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of a man who fasts for his entire life?" He said, "He has neither fasted nor broken his fast," or "He has not fasted and he has not broken his fast."
حدثنا وكيع عن مهدي بن ميمون عن غيلان بن جرير عن عبد الله بن معبد الزماني عن أبي قتادة قال قال رجل يا رسول الله أرأيت رجلا يصوم الدهر كله قال لا صام ولا أفطر أو ما صام ولا أفطر
