Hadith 4:690
Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Khalid, from Abu ‘Amr al-Shaybani, who said: It reached ‘Umar that a man was fasting for his entire life, so he struck him with the whip and began saying: "Eat, O Dahr (time/eternity), eat, O Dahr."
حدثنا وكيع عن بن أبي خالد عن أبي عمرو الشيباني قال بلغ عمر أن رجلا يصوم الدهر فعلاه بالدرة وجعل يقول كل يا دهر كل يا دهر
