Hadith 4:719
'Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) fasted continuously (without breaking his fast at night), so we also fasted continuously. That reached the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so he said: "If the month were extended for me, I would have fasted continuously in a way that those who go to extremes would abandon their extremism. I am not like you; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."
حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن حميد عن أنس قال واصل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فواصلنا فبلغ ذلك النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال لو أن الشهر مد لي لواصلت وصالا يدع المتعمقون تعمقهم إني لست مثلكم إني أظل يطعمني ربي ويسقيني
