Hadith 4:747
Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Humayd, from al-Walid ibn Utbah, who said: We fasted Ramadan during the time of Ali without a sighting [of the moon], for twenty-eight days. When the day of Fitr arrived, he ordered us to make up one day.
حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن حميد عن الوليد بن عتبة قال صمنا رمضان في عهد علي على غير رؤية ثمانية وعشرين يوما فلما كان يوم الفطر أمرنا أن نقضي يوما
