Hadith 4:758
Ibn ‘Ulayyah narrated to us, from Layth, from al-Hakam, from ‘Ali and ‘Abdullah, they both said: The one in I’tikaf is not required to fast, unless he stipulates that upon himself.
حدثنا بن علية عن ليث عن الحكم عن علي وعبد الله قالا المعتكف ليس عليه صوم إلا أن يشترط ذلك على نفسه
