Hadith 4:828
'Abd al-Samad ibn 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Hajjaj, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Utbah, that his mother vowed to perform i'tikaf for ten days, but she died and did not perform the i'tikaf. Ibn 'Abbas said: "Perform the i'tikaf on behalf of your mother."
حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث عن حماد بن سلمة عن حجاج عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة أن أمه نذرت أن تعتكف عشرة أيام فماتت ولم تعتكف فقال بن عباس اعتكف عن أمك
