Hadith 4:871
Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to say when he saw a crescent moon: "A crescent of good and guidance, a crescent of good and guidance, a crescent of good and guidance. I believe in the One who created you." "Praise be to Allah who caused such-and-such month to pass."
