Shababa narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, who said: I heard Ibn Mas'ud saying regarding [the Surahs of] Bani Isra'il, al-Kahf, Maryam, Taha, and al-Anbiya': "They are among the first of the ancient [revelations], and they are among my earliest acquisitions."
