Qutaybah narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from Sa‘id al-Maqburi, from his father, from ‘Abdullah ibn Salam, that he said in a hadith he mentioned: "Then Adam denied his offspring, and that was the first day witnesses were commanded."
