Yazid narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us, from Muhammad, who said: The first person to perform *zihar* (a form of pre-Islamic divorce) in Islam was the husband of Khawlah. He performed *zihar* upon her, so she came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and informed him. He sent for him, and the Quran was revealed: "Allah has heard the speech of the one who argues with you concerning her husband."
